February 15, 2020 Reply Scoobydoo Yes February 15, 2020 Reply Joseph Murphy I loved the Netflix adaptation. It entertained and surprise me and love the creative February 15, 2020 Reply PIZZA The difference between the comic and the Netflix show is that the brother and sister are dating. February 15, 2020 Reply Neishas Crazyworld Boring February 15, 2020 Reply καμιά ψυχή The show sucks. Dunno if the comics are as shit. But this isn't worth anyone's time. Seriously, absolute shit February 15, 2020 Reply Der Hof 2007 Would have been sooooo much better if they didn't pussify it with a PG rating. February 15, 2020 Reply Crystal M I hope it’s on the Canadian Netflix and we don’t have to wait for it (they really need a pouty face emoji) February 15, 2020 Reply TVChild3 One is an original horror comic with a great premise, an even greater execution of that premise and remarkable visuals, the other is a derivative teen-oriented show with good production design but baffling story choices and poor acting. February 15, 2020 Reply BI0FALL This show is so fucking trash, watchable but Ina funny bad way. February 15, 2020 Reply Lucas Lucas Homemade movies # February 15, 2020 Reply Jacob Borg Hopefully they don't make too much more. If GOT taught us anything, it's that moving further away from the source material can end very badly. Having said that, i'm definitely interested in where this new plot will go, what parts from the comics will/won't be used and if will they introduce more keys February 15, 2020 Reply Khalil Frederick Wasn't a huge fan of the more horror elements being replaced by mystery, was kinda disappointed that some characters felt dumb down at moments and was also really hoping they used the giant key. Granted they could be saving it for season two but still. Also another small thing, did anyone else find it odd that all the locke kids called their uncle Duncan by his first name? February 15, 2020 Reply Blues' Reviews I'm not a fan of the identity key or how they changed that people could remember magic or that echoes are immortal I feel like these changes add too many convenient ways to throw lukewarm twists in instead of the drama and suspense that the comics had February 15, 2020 Reply Domnul Pământ The difference is that the comics are actually good. February 15, 2020 Reply Brody Birdwell Do “You” and it’s sequel, there are quite a bit of differences. February 15, 2020 Reply Justin Smith both the show and the comic suck. February 15, 2020 Reply joey4track Great, brutally dark and Lovecraftian source material completely obliterated by a PG-13 teenie bopper makeover.. smh February 15, 2020 Reply John Red Robin You guys should do the Netflix umbrella academy too, I’m tired of getting into a drunk tirade to explain why the comic is far superior to my friends. And honestly I hate all the changes made in the show, it feels wrong. I don’t mind more keys but the blatant changes to the rules and lore doesn’t feel like trying to keep the audience guessing it feels like Netflix said, “this is lame we could do better!” I would have preferred a soft reboot/sequel/prequel. You could tell the story’s about an earlier or later Locke family or if you wanted to make a kid friendly show have a younger cast collect the keys like Pokémon with a cartoonish villain. This somewhere in between dark and kid friendly and rewrite of elements just feels like a shameless cash grab February 15, 2020 Reply Blind Alphabet Not interested . Terorized by music only and dramatic situation, Away from the comic February 15, 2020 Reply Savage Henry Lee The first episode was kind of amusing, but ultimately I'm glad I watched this video instead of the series. I loved the comic, and I do wish they'd kept some of the darker elements. February 15, 2020 Reply Mackie Lunkey Do best cartoons of all time! February 15, 2020 Reply Bo Cowan Now we just need a boys “what’s the difference” video February 15, 2020 Reply Stephen Monroe Watched the first three eps. That's enough for me. The characters are too dumb, just a cringe level of stupid. February 15, 2020 Reply EbberDeeMills I prefer Key and Peele, thanks. February 15, 2020 Reply Solarfuchs Locke and Key was the worst show i have seen this year and was just as poorly written as the last GOT season. It looked promising and interesting but they really screwed it up in every way possible. February 15, 2020 Reply Pramod Narwade Enough with the difference videos. I don't read these books n comics. Talk movies alright. February 15, 2020 Reply Ranty McRant-Pants What the fk is that weird Netflix person about? You owned by Disney or something so have to discredit NF at any opportunity? February 15, 2020 Reply Mr. Sensible I kind of enjoyed it overall, but the characters are all idiots – there were so many opportunities to get out of bad situations with the keys/magic music box etc. And they never think to use the most advantageous things you could imagine when it calls for it. If the characters never did anything stupid, there would be no story, it ALL relies on characters being dumb, Ellie tries to resurrect Lucas, Bodhi frees the Well lady, they lose all the keys easily, they constantly make stupid decisions, they trust people quickly even though they know there's a shapeshifting key? They just left that lady trapped in her own head? They didn't figure that part out? it's completely erratic about who can remember what too, theres always a convenience, and even though I figured out the Gabe twist, I wasn't sure if it was an echo, or if there was a real Gabe at some point, or how he knew the Savinis, and so on…it's probably obvious, but it all felt needlessly convoluted. And they literally bring Lucas the key when they know he has the crown and they know where he is. It would be like someone going to the Death Star with the location of the secret Rebel Base, and walking right into Darth Vader's bedroom. Its stupid. Oh, and don't get me started on how they let a little kid dictate the potential fate of humanity, they just let a little kid wander off and play detective and protect potential world ending keys? And imagine if a crazed gunman walked into your home, someone who has already killed one of your family members….and you're complete expendable….and he has a loaded gun. I think most people would hold back on the sass and insults. I think you'd keep your mouth shut in that scenario and not piss off a possessed maniac. Right? Actually – why didn't Kinzie say…."I'll give you the key, I hid it in the music box, only I can open it" And then when she opens the music box she tells Sam? Was that his name (the gunman) …she tells the gunman "shoot yourself in the balls and then head". Problem solved. February 15, 2020 Reply Heisenkirk 2000 What a coincidence, I just finished it yesterday February 15, 2020 Reply Elizabeth B I normally love this series. Because for the most part you avoid "The Book Was Better" attitude that is so easy to do. But your sarcasm this episode was really off putting. The show isn't great; and is terribly predictable, but I was looking forward to an impartial analysis. That didn't happen. I'm disappointed Cinefix. February 15, 2020 Reply Koen Timmermans I read the graphic novels and loved them. Is this show worth it or should I avoid February 15, 2020 Reply ThatBugBehindYou I understand you can't burn bridges and just outright say the Netflix show is terrible but all the hints that you hate it through the guy in the suit and all the passive aggressiveness is just annoying. Either outright say it's not up to the quality of the book and make a quick tangent about Netflix or make no hints or jabs at all and just keep it a comparison. February 15, 2020 Reply Deathtone Thanks for the video. Now I can save my money and pass on it. February 15, 2020 Reply Strahinja Trajkovic Do video on The Boys February 15, 2020 Reply Grave Spawn Them removing Lovecraft's name from the town was like a subtle hint that they'd removed the fear elements of the story in favor of magic and fantasy. February 15, 2020 Reply Jeremy Jenkins I watched the first 40 minutes of the pilot episode. It was good then it petered out. Oh well, I wanted to like the show. February 15, 2020 Reply Mark Five Looks like crap. February 15, 2020 Reply The Fantastic Paul I should know these, but it just been too long since I read the books, I've forgotten which keys were in there or not. February 15, 2020 Reply Fury Rage Nice February 15, 2020 Reply Jazzy Wolf I haven't read the comics but I do hope Bodie isn't so unbearable stupid, and Nina isn't such a horrible parent. February 15, 2020 Reply Joshua Carreon The changes are enough for me not to watch this series which is too bad cause I own and love the books. February 15, 2020 Reply NMxBanshee_Storm ending of ep 9 sucks and the whole of ep 10 is just bad. love everything else about this show but it just died after ep 9. February 15, 2020 Reply Liam Donovan Shout out to Lunenburg Nova Scotia February 15, 2020 Reply TadGhostal Such a great fuckin’ comic February 15, 2020 Reply Curtis Williams I both love and hate the show. I have my reasons February 15, 2020 Reply Sentari The show uses that horrible Billie Elish crown song in a scene that involves…a crown. Probably the most important reason why not to watch this show. February 15, 2020 Reply Bawdy Ben I was hopeful for the series, but after seeing the comparison, it just reminded me I need to get around to finishing the comics. February 15, 2020 Reply sandman2470 i might try and read the comics because i could not finish the show it just has some of the laziest character writing I've ever seen in a decent budget TV show before. the characters just do not think like normal human beings and fail to do some of even the most basic things for plot convince. hopefully the comic is much better because the concept of this property is fun and it's what drew me into want to start watching the show. February 15, 2020 Reply Bulletproof Doodles am I the only one who liked this show? 🙁 I've never read the comic and had no idea what the show was about, so to me the whole plot was really interesting February 15, 2020 Reply Nikolas Mace Can you look at all 3 Berserk Anime movies and the berserk manga and see what's the difference💀🔪👻👹 February 15, 2020 Reply tzane123 the novel was not meant for kids so netflix was like " hey let`s make this , but cut our most of the stuff that made the comic interesting and more suitable for kids " February 15, 2020 Reply Archi Teuthis Does this video still contain spoilers for show if I've already read the entire comic series? February 15, 2020 Reply Cody S Aw I see they made it lame February 15, 2020 Reply kirby march barcena The differences made for the show is good on its own. The graphic violence in the comics would never be duplicated in the series for sure. February 15, 2020 Reply Lucas Castro WoW, so, that''s why I found the netflix's adaptation bland and boring? February 15, 2020 Reply Jack Willison Can we please have what’s the difference on The Handmaiden/Fingersmith please February 16, 2020 Reply Shannon T Thank you for being the only video I have seen to use Aloha 🖕🏻 in the intro!! 👏👏👏 February 16, 2020 Reply michael silver I watched the first couple episodes, and it hasn't really caught my interest. I'm sure I'll watch the whole season, but I don't find it very compelling. I find myself asking "Now, why the hell would they do THAT?" way too often. February 16, 2020 Reply Katie Smith I which Locke and key 95 times February 16, 2020 Reply Katie Smith And I’m bodes cousin February 16, 2020 Reply Darrel Adams Every single one of the "good" characters have the I.Q. of a rounded rock. I'm rooting for Dodge to just wipe them all out. February 16, 2020 Reply TheCreepypro I hadn't heard of this show till now but I'm kind of digging it and I think I should check it out February 16, 2020 Reply Nick Partin Please, a special on World War Z, other Stephen King novels you haven't covered, heck just for the shits and giggles I'll even propose the Twilight books/films XD, and the Narnia stories. February 16, 2020 Reply RUdigitized The comics were horrifying and the bad kid (forgot his name) was 10x more intimidating. Taking out the horror has made it toothless and the girl in the well isn’t scary at all. I’m really disappointed. February 16, 2020 Reply Carlos Felipe Figueiras Another bad adaptation of a great work. So many dumb teen novels to become a new stranger thing, why do it with locke and key? February 16, 2020 Reply David Leon This show was honestly very messy…. The children are all so annoying…. The adults too. Everyone's like so oblivious to everything….. They could've crafted a very well thought out series, smart characters, well developed characters/story lines….. They gave us derivative typical angst up teens with too much melodrama…. The villain was and is the only character I found interesting, she/he pulled some stunts and is very cunning. Unapologetically evil. I loved it! I'm honestly rooting for the villain. February 16, 2020 Reply Aaron Wallace Couldn't watch it. February 16, 2020 Reply Javier Damacena Clint..! Is this you..? https://youtu.be/VfCYZ3pks48 February 16, 2020 Reply Lord Mogatron Gaming I'd like to see something about the Umbrella Academy (although maybe wait to do it until the next season premieres later this year) February 16, 2020 Reply Spicy Jerk-Chicken It might just be me but the most likeable character was Sam February 16, 2020 Reply TheCloveart Not a huge fan of the Netflix series. The cuteness is sometimes too sweet and the decisions the characters make are just plan stupid. To the point you are kind of rooting for the bad guys. Stranger Things does a way better job of creating a tight and yet entertaining storyline with children as the protagonists and still having interesting relationships with each other and the other characters around them. Locke & Key definitely has their work cut out for them if they want this series to have any kind of success. I wish they left it TV-MA… making a more family friendly series (unless done very well) doesn't seem to breed the same popularity are Marvel films. Plus, on the rare chance that any execs read these comments… if you go into a comic book shop… the people you see in there are mostly older teens and adults. You rarely see families or children younger than high school age. That is target demo. February 16, 2020 Reply Santos Both 5:56 and 6:02 look extremely painful so it makes no difference to me if one is bloodier than the other. February 16, 2020 Reply Dhruv George Can you do a What's the Difference for The Meg? February 16, 2020 Reply Crash Gaming The difference is that the Netflix show is a teen half backed fantasy and boring af while the graphic novel is horror and intriguing. February 16, 2020 Reply C. Roman I didn't like this series. It had promise, but by mid series it had devolved into pure generic YA cliche garbage. No one ever acts like a believable human being. Every single scene, character, action taken/not taken, etc. felt like it was devised in a corporate board room meeting or by a computer trying its best to mash every existing YA property into a single product. It's all frustrating, but more than anything, the completely incomprehensible villain tanked the series. They lack urgency, threat, consistency, motive, etc. It's like, do you want the keys or not? Maybe make a d-tier effort to acquire them and not lose them. Are you killing people for the lolz or just pushing people down and being sassy with them? Do you or do you not want to achieve your ever changing stated goal, because by the end of the series the answer seems to be a resounding, doesn't really give a crap. The story constantly stops and starts at random because that's when the writers/producers decided they were ready for the villain to be part of the story again. Might not be a problem if the stuff not pertaining to the villain, magic keys, and main story were interesting, but by this point I've seen enough Hollywood puberty and troubled/prodigious kids to last a lifetime, and there is no new ground explored here. So 90% cliche angst and child actors, 10% story that doesn't know what the story actually is. I'd give this series a 6/10 on a generous day. It's not unwatchable, but there's little reason to choose this over something else. February 16, 2020 Reply Moisés Furbino Stupid Kids & Magic Keys February 16, 2020 Reply instantsurgery I had wanted to read the comics for ages but didn’t . So I know neither of the two stories but the Netflix really looks shitty February 16, 2020 Reply lilnuggetdude Still Waiting for you guys to do Tarantino’s Jackie Brown. February 16, 2020 Reply Milton2k I am about 130 mins into the video and I just quit cause of of the spoileres……Sorry I will come back later. February 16, 2020 Reply Scifon Cra Interesting TV show that will get 3 seasons and then get cancelled. February 16, 2020 Reply BadKarma 714 I never heard of the comics or the show but it looks really good February 16, 2020 Reply Some Guy Hey for your next video you should make a “What’s the Difference?” Between Jojo Rabbit and Caging Skies.
