Air Force Academy cadets give helping hand to Habitat for Humanity


FOR HUMANITY” HAD A FEW EXTRA HANDS TO HELP THEM OUT TODAY. CADETS FROM THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY JOINED THEM IN FOUNTAIN TO PUT TOGETHER A HOME FOR A DESERVING FAMILY. SO FAR THIS SCHOOL YEAR, CADETS HAVE VOLUNTEERED MORE THAN 13-THOUSAND HOURS. FOR THE ORGANIZATIONS, THEY SAY IT’S A BIG HELP. “SO FAR SO GOOD, WE’RE GETTING THOSE TRESSES UP ON THE HOUSE,IT’S A NICE HEAVY JOB, ORIGINALLY WE WERE THINKING ABOUT PAINTING TODAY BUT ONCE WE SAW THESE CADETS WE DECIDED THEY SHOULD WORK HARDER” -WILLIAM SMITH, CONSTRUCTION MANAGER BUTTED TO “I TRY TO VOLUNTEER ONCE A MONTH ABOUT, WE’RE PRETTY BUSY AS CADETS SO WE DON’T HAVE THAT MUCH TIME SO WE USUALLY FIND A WEEKEND HERE OR THERE TO FIND SOMETHING TO DO” -KATELYN BALKE, FIRST YEAR CADET THE CADETS ARE HELPING OUT A HANDFUL OF ORGANIZATIONS IN SOUTHERN COLORADO THIS WEEKEND, INCLUDING GOODWILL, THE WOLF AND WILDLIFE CENTER IN TELLER
